Integration of 50-year-old Megara into Corex begins this month. Both are based in Melbourne. Megara's manufacturing including staff, machines and assets will be moved into the Corex plant in Dandenong. All Megara product brands will be retained, and will be marketed alongside Corex brands. The two businesses say they share a common DNA: a commitment to Australian manufacturing, and a focus on delivering environmentally friendly bespoke solutions to customers. Megara and Corex are both privately run and owned Australian businesses. Both businesses say they are committed to designing and producing high-quality products locally, supporting jobs and local communities.

Simon Whiteley, managing director of Corex said, “Merging Corex and Megara extends our offering in the plastic sheet manufacturing and recycling industry in Australia. Megara’s world class Promeg graphic polypropylene sheet products are an excellent addition to our industrial plastic solid sheet and Corflute product lines. “Together, we’ll be able to deliver a set of capabilities to the market, and service a more diverse range of customers and industries. We’ll be providing a one-stop-shop covering sheet manufacturing and custom product design – a local manufacturing powerhouse.”

Megara CEO, Mark Weiss said, “We couldn’t be happier to see Megara join forces with another great Australian manufacturer. This newly combined entity will be capable of delivering additional benefits and value to our existing customers. These include an expanded product offering, greater production and recycling capacity and increased creative options.” Corex is well known for its leading flagship brand Corflute sheet products, along with manufacturing a broad range of solid plastic sheet products in a wide range of engineering resins.
