Banners help you make an excellent first impression in Splatoon 3, and here's a guide to help you unlock all the available banners in the game.

Customization is a critical aspect of multiplayer gaming, as it allows players to make their in-game characters reflect themselves more effectively. This can be done in Splatoon 3 through your character design, weapon choice, and several other ways. Another way through which multiplayer games allow players to separate themselves from the rest are Banners that go along with your player name, with you being extremely limited in your options at the start of your adventure in Splatoon 3.

Splatoon 3 utilizes what they call Splashtags as the overall name for the rectangular box that houses your player name in the results screen of matches. Splashtags are made up of Banners, Badges, and Titles, all of which you can collect in the game. These can be set from the Lobby Terminal that is located just to the left of where you can start matchmaking within the Lobby areas.

Banners can be acquired in many different ways in Splatoon 3, with the majority of them coming through the Shell-Out Machine found in the lobby. This coin-operated machine is the game's version of a gacha game where the rewards you get are completely random. However, you're going to need a lot of cash or Conch Shells to purchase these.

Another method to acquire new Banners is through the Catalog from the General Store known as Hotlantis. You will not have access to The Catalog until you reach level 4 in the game, though. The Catalog is the game's version of a battle pass, with the first known as Drizzle Season 2022, which will run through the end of November. As you level up the Catalog by earning XP, you will unlock new items, with Banners being rewarded at the following levels.

As you can see, there are eight total Banners to earn through the Catalog. These will only be available through the first season of the Catalog, so make sure to level up to get all of them before it ends. Also, make sure to check back at the start of December when more should be available via the new Catalog that will go live at that time.

These are two main methods for acquiring Banners, but you will also come across them in other areas as rewards from things like the card game Tableturf Battle and Salmon Run. All in all, you will need to play most areas of Splatoon 3 to unlock all the available Banners, with more set to come in future seasons.
