With the new high-quality Epsilon2 tricone bit, surface mining and construction professionals will enjoy 100% more drilled distance before bit disposal.

Thanks to intelligent patented features, Epsilon2 will greatly improve drilling productivity with increased bit life and increased ROP. Water Well Drilling Rig Manufacturer

Selected customers have conducted extensive field tests with the new air cone drill under widely varying operating conditions in North America, South America and Asia.Tests show an average of more than 60% increase in distance traveled before bit discard compared to the previous generation of Epsilon, with a maximum of more than 100% in some cases.

"The name Epsilon 'raised to 2' is no coincidence. It's more than an update to a previous product, it's a new generation."Bahadir Ergener, Product Line Manager, Rotary

"Bearing deterioration was a common cause of bit failure, forcing customers to accept a slower rate of penetration and shorter life. Bearings were rusting due to moisture from water injection to remove dust or overheat from friction," continues Bahadir.

To solve the problem, two Epiroc patented features are combined: Tornado, which channels cooling air through the hotter load side of the bearing, and Torrent, which removes moisture from the cooling air, thereby reducing the corrosion.

DOUBLE THE DISTANCE TRAVELED BY THE DRILL

"Epsilon2 outperforms other air cone bits in terms of reliability and even challenges expensive sealed cone bits. Sealed bit users can now turn to Epsilon 2 for comparable productivity at lower cost," explains Steven Brooke, Global Director of products in Epiroc's Rotary division.

Longer bit life means greater personal safety thanks to less operator interaction with the bit. With twice the distance traveled, you don't need to replace the bit every day, maybe just once a week," he continues.

Another window derived from the longer useful life of the bit is that fewer bits are manufactured, with the consequent reduction in the extraction of raw materials, transport and the ecological footprint.

"We believe customers will value less climate impact when selecting their next rotary bit."Steven Brooke, Global Product Manager, Rotary
